My love affair with real estate began when I was six years old. I’ll never forget the first time I stepped into my aunt Susie‘s beautiful peach house with the grand, swirling staircase and sparkling swimming pool. It was like a real life Barbie Dreamhouse. I fantasized about homes ever since. I grew up to buy my first home at age 19 while working in the service industry. At age 20, I went to real estate school and then chickened out when I saw my business cards, thinking no one would ever take me seriously because I looked about 15! I continued to invest in real estate in my 20s and became an RN after my grandmother passed from lung cancer. I remember just rubbing her feet and talking with her, I couldn’t cry, I just wanted her to feel good. It was then I realized I really wanted to help other people “feel good,” and went to nursing school. I eventually achieved my masters in nursing and role of pulmonary and critical care nurse practitioner. I also sacrificed a lot of time with my young daughter. I stepped down from the hospital to spend more time with my family and began helping my husband run his private charter jet business. One day my husband said “Lisa, you’re always looking at houses. You’ve bought and sold our last two homes and loved it. Why don’t you just make this your career?” It’s hard to argue with him, because he’s always right and I know it. So I last year I took the plunge and married my childhood dream with my passion for helping people. I love learning more and more about real estate and I’m thrilled to be in this occupation for many years to come. Let’s talk about houses!
